Michael Kay is best known for his work on XSLT, as the developer of the open -source XSLT processor Saxon, and as author of a popular XSLT reference book, XSLT Programmer's Reference , now in its second edition. In the course of a long career with the U.K. computer manufacturer ICL, he successively led the design teams for Codasyl, relational, object-oriented, and text database products. He joined Software AG as a member of the architecture team in February 2001 and has recently been appointed as Software AG's representative on the W3C XML Query working group . His background (and Ph.D.) is in database technology. Michael is an editor of the working drafts of XSL Transformations ( XSLT ) Version 1.0 [XSLT], XSLT 2.0 and XQuery 1.0 Serialization [SERIAL], and XML Path Language (XPath) 2.0 [XPATH2]. |
