Conclusion

Globalization has become an essential business strategy for many enterprises in the current environment. It requires detailed planning, preparation, and investigation of issues before the implementation of global transition process can take place. In order to move the enterprise towards globalization, senior executives need to realize the impact of GISM issues on the globalization process. To provide a comprehensive view of the global transition issues, this chapter presents a number of factors identified by other researchers as cultural, human resource management, business strategic planning, quality assurance, systems development, and technological issues. These issues are classified into five categories: information technology management, business information systems management, people management, end user management, and culture. Each of these categories is explored and discussed in a number of associated factors. Further, suggestions and recommendations have been made to address these factors.
