I would like to dedicate this book to my parents, who proudly tell anyone who will listen that there is an author in the family. I am especially grateful to my partner, William, for his support and encouragement and to Scruffy, our cairn terrier, who kept me from working too many continuous hours at my three (count ’em!) computers by subtly reminding me of the importance of the occasional walk.
