Each chapter in this book ends with a brief review. This review provides you with a quick reference while editing on Avid Xpress Pro.

Nonlinear editing allows you to make changes easily, scan for a shot quickly, and produce multiple versions of your edited master.
The basic workflow of nonlinear editing is as follows : capture, edit, and output the results.
A clip contains information about the source of the material, not the actual media.
Avid Xpress Pro's media files contain the actual captured material.
Bins can be opened from other projects. They appear italicized when you do so.
Bin views include Basic, Text, Frame, and Script.
Any bin view can be printed.
Frame view allows you to move clips around, resize your clips, and change the representative frame.
The Settings tab allows you to customize how you edit.
