Viewing Photos Stored in Different Locations

Windows Vista provides a variety of ways to view your photos and other pictures so that you can decide which ones to keep, copy, print, or send to friends. Although the Windows Photo Gallery is a superb way to organize and view your photos, you might want to look at some photos that you haven't yet included in the Gallerythose on a removable USB memory device, for example.

View Your Photos

In the folder that contains the photos, click the down arrow at the right of the Views button, and drag the slider to Extra Large Icons.

Click a photo that you want to see in detail.

Click the down arrow at the right of the Preview, Edit, or Open button (whichever is shown), and choose Windows Photo Gallery from the list. If none of these buttons is shown, right-click the photo, and choose Preview from the shortcut menu.

View the photo, and use the tools in the viewer just as you use them in the Windows Photo Gallery.
