Interpreter/Tools Used

The Python interpreter operates on Linux, native Windows, and Windows using the Cygwin Unix environment. All examples shown here are self-contained within the standard Python distribution. Python can be extended with dynamically linked libraries, but none are required in this discussion.

Note 

The sample code patterns presented here (and in Chapter 18) and on the CD-ROM will execute on any of the supported environments.
