This appendix provides some installation notes that we uncovered during actual customer engagements that coincided with this redbook’s residency. The contents of this appendix are aimed at the MVS systems programmer who installs WebSphere Studio Asset Analyzer.
There are several configuration changes to the associated supporting products that you must make before you can use WebSphere Studio Asset Analyzer (WSAA). IBM HTTP Server, Net.Data, and WebSphere Application Server (WAS) must be installed and configured on your system.
You need to update the IBM HTTP Server files so that it can access the HTML files of WSAA and display them in your Web browser. Net.Data files must be updated so that it can access the data in your database. WebSphere Application Server must be updated so that it can recognized WSAA.
The book, Program Directory for IBM WebSphere Studio Asset Analyzer for Multiplatforms V2R2, GI10-8483, describes the following steps:
Configure IBM HTTP Server
Configure Net.Data
Configure WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
Configure Distributed Assets component
Configure JDBC properties
Configure WebSphere Studio Asset Analyzer
We will touch briefly on some of these items in the following sections.
