Changing the Snap To Threshold  | I'm having trouble changing Snap to Guides in (Edit, Preferences). I can change it up to a threshhold of 3 pixels but nothing beyond that. Is there a setting I am missing? |
The Snap Distance cannot exceed the Pick Distance. The Pick Distance refers to how closely you must click to an object for it to be selected. Change both settings to a larger value and your new Snap Distance will be accepted. Rearranging Tools I have a particular way I like to work with FreeHand's tools since I commonly use only a few of them. Is there a way I can re-arrange the Toolbox? Although you can float the Toolbox vertically or horizontally anywhere on your monitor, FreeHand's new tool groupings are designed to make tool selection more convenient . For example, the most common transformation tools--Scale, Skew, Rotate, and Mirror--are all located in one group . If you want to see all four of those tools without clicking and holding the Scale tool icon, rearrange what's visible in the Toolbox by selecting (Window, Toolboxes, Customize). Arrange the tool icons to fit your tastes. Missing Toolbars My Toolbox has disappeared. I go to the Windows menu and select Tools, but nothing happens. This is driving me crazy. Help! This is unfortunately a fairly common experience with FreeHand. When people start customizing their workspace the Toolbox can pull a Jimmy Hoffa and disappear from your screen. This happens when the Toolbox is moved off the screen or the settings file that remembers the location of the toolbar has been corrupted. To resolve this issue, take a close look at your screen to see if there is a small edge of the Toolbox peeking out. If you see it, try and drag the Toolbox back on the screen. If that doesn't work, you'll have to delete the Toolbox settings profile, but Exit or Quit FreeHand before trying this option: -
