Answers

A1:

Select the block of text with your pointing device and then click the italic button in the Formatting bar.

A2:

Choose Format, Paragraph to open the Paragraph dialog box and then choose Double Spacing from the Line Spacing drop-down list.

A3:

In the Save As file dialog box, click Browse for Other Folders to display the file type drop-down list, then select one of the Microsoft Word options from the list before clicking the Save button.

Activities

  1. Create a new Writer document, save it, and exit Writer. Then restart Writer and open the document again to become familiar with saving and opening files.

  2. Explore the different fonts, sizes, and styles available to you while creating documents in Writer.
