Switch Configuration Basics

All switches approved for use with Xsan have auto-sensing SFP ports. Most can suppress registered state name changes (RSCN) on ports that will be attached to the initiator nodes (clients or controllers) of the SAN. This allows uninterrupted communication between the nodes and the storage if any of the nodes are started up or are restarted during SAN activity.
