Viewing and Changing the UID and Group ID

You can use the NetInfo Manager application to view and update the user and group ID for any user.

Changing the UID is helpful, for example, if two users have conflicting UID numbers and you must change one of them. Updating this information requires two steps:

1.	Change the UID and GID in NetInfo Manager (Applications > Utilities > NetInfo Manager).
2.	Update the permissions of the users previously created Home folder by using the Terminal application (Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
