Chapter 2. Creating and Using Stylesheets

In the previous chapter, we got started with XSLT in overview. In this chapter, were going to start working with it in detail. Were going to see how to think of documents in XSLT terms, how to structure an XSLT stylesheet, and how to embed stylesheets in documents. This chapter gives an introduction to how to create stylesheet templates, which are the very heart of XSLT stylesheets. Templates implement the actual rules you want to apply to your data, and well work with templates in more depth in the next chapter.

This chapter begins our systematic work with stylesheets, and without question, the place to start is to see what an XML document looks like from a stylesheets point of view.
