There is no one simple way to install a Ruby on Rails development environment on a Linux distributions. Although the steps may be similar for each distribution, they are different enough that we will just point you to some external instructions. If you don't find your distribution here, try a Google search for "installing ruby on rails on <your-distro-here> ".
