Name the three types of organization structure. Organizations can either be functional, matrix, or projectized .

Be able to define the role of a project manager. A project manager is the person who leads the project team and oversees all of the work required to complete the project.

Understand what skills are needed to manage a project beyond technical knowledge of the product. General management skills are important, as the project manager must interact with the sponsor, the project team members , and other key stakeholders. Key general management skills include leadership, communication, problem solving, negotiation, organization, and time management.
