Objects are data types that you create in Macromedia Flash MX and use to control a movie. They are collections of properties and methods . A few examples of an object's data types are sound, graphics, and text (which will be outlined within the Flash MX Objects section). All the objects that you use or create belong to a larger collective known as a "class." Flash provides predefined classes for you to use that are referred to as "objects." An object or class in ActionScript is the equivalent of the noun in a sentence .
