Improper handling of Requirement Deficiency can easily lead to a framework that is subject to the Brittle Bones illness. Even if the initial framework is not overly brittle for the original design, the changing requirements could weaken the structure to a point that it is almost unusable. Proper requirement collection can therefore assist in preventing both of these illnesses.
Although not necessarily caused by Myopia, both Myopia and Brittle Bones share a similar impact as Requirement Deficiency. All three are difficult to recognize in the short term, but have large detrimental effects over the long-term course of the project.
