Fedora includes a full range of tools for configuring and managing mail servers. For mail transfer agents , Fedora includes the Sendmail and Postfix software packages. Both are considered to be excellent , professional quality mail servers.
To allow users to access their mailboxes from the server, Fedora includes the dovecot package. That package implements POP3 and IMAP protocols to allow e-mail to be downloaded or manipulated on the server. You can also configure SquirrelMail to allow users to access their mail through a Web-based interface.
To set up mailing lists in Fedora, you can use the mailman package. Besides including some very flexible configuration tools, mailman also provides simple Web-based access to mailing list preferences and archives.
