4. Write and Print ChecksOn a day-to-day basis, you'll primarily use Quicken to handle the transactions in your various checking, savings, and credit card accounts. A transaction can be anything that changes the balance of an account. For a checking account, it could be writing a check, making a deposit, or withdrawing cash from the ATM. Every account in Quicken has an account register in which you enter transactions. Quicken's registers look and act much like paper checkbook registers, which makes them familiar and easy to use. However, a Quicken register does the math for you and keeps a running balance automatically. In this chapter, you'll learn how to enter transactions in the account registers, write checks, enter deposits, transfer money between Quicken accounts, and print checks from Quicken, rather than writing them by hand.
