Using the Slide Switcher

 < Day Day Up >

During the presentation, Keynote provides the slide switcher, which is a tool that you can use to control your show. It includes ways to move to the previous and next slides, and there's a field that allows you to jump to any slide in your presentation.

To bring up the slide switcher during a presentation

  • Type a slide number.

    or

  • Press the plus sign, equals sign, or hyphen on your keyboard.

The slide switcher appears as an overlay on your slide ( Figure 12.11 ). If you are using the Presenter Display, the slide switcher will overlay that display instead. The slide switcher shows you, from left to right, thumbnails of the previous slide, the current slide, and the next slide. Slide numbers are shown under each of the slide thumbnails. The slide number for the current slide is a field, into which you can type another slide number.

Figure 12.11. The slide switcher lets you change which slide you'll be viewing next during a presentation.

  • Click the left-pointing arrow or press the hyphen key to move back through the slides.

  • Type a new slide number in the field under the current slide, then press Return to close the slide switcher and jump to that slide.
