Standards-Specific Implementation Software

Finally, a variety of standards-specific implementation software has recently emerged, specifically designed to implement, manage, and assess compliance with standards such as SA 8000, or ISO 14001.

The Entropy System, the software platform developed by Entropy International (mentioned above), for example, supports SA 8000 implementations . GreenWare, used by companies such as Delta Airlines and British Petroleum to help implement or assess their ISO 14000 readiness, has developed a software suite based on the ISO 14000 standard for environmental management that includes ISO 14000 series assessment, implementation, procedures, and audit modules. ^{[11 ]}

Similarly, Global Resource Management has a set of software tools that specifically focuses on helping companies manage their suppliers based on requirements set down in performance standards such as ISO 14001 or the ISO 9001:2000 quality standard. Designed as both an assessment and a management tool, their software measures supplier performance in terms of quality, environment, health, safety, and ethics against these international standards, providing both a snapshot of current practice as well as a toolkit that guides users through a step-by-step approach to manage risks more effectively, ensure legal compliance, im- prove efficiency and implement robust systems, all according to ISO 14001 and other standards. ^{[12 ]}
