Summary


The design solutions provided in this chapter are not the only possible design solutions, but they are the most common and established ones. The main topics here are to enhance knowledge of the troubleshooting engineer in industry-established enterprise and ISP design solutions, ISDN switch types, SPIDs and LDNs, IP pool design, and NAT and PAT solutions. Detailed description for per- user design, virtual templates, and profiles is also provided. Because of the significance of MLP and MMP, a detailed explanation is also provided. This chapter contributes to the identification of the expected behavior of the system, where the routers are expected to perform according to the context of the particular design.
