SBS 2003 installs with Exchange Server 2003 standard and offers several additions not found with previous versions of Exchange. SBS 2003 takes advantage of Outlook Web Access, Outlook Mobile Access, and Exchange Server ActiveSync. SBS also provides a tool to download POP3 (Post Office Protocol) email into the Exchange server that is not available with other server solutions. SBS administrators can also use the Intelligent Message Filter (IMF) Exchange add-on to help control spam on the network. To keep those features running smoothly, the Exchange part of SBS 2003 must be managed and maintained.
