Instead of selecting a commenting tool, clicking in your document to place some sort of marker, and then entering your comments in a separate window, you basically make text edits as you would in a word processor and Acrobat marks the text appropriately. For example, if you select a block of text and press the Backspace or Delete key, the text is marked for deletion as indicated by a red line through the selected text. On the other hand, if you click somewhere in your text and start typing, a text insertion marker is added to indicate where the new text should be inserted. Regardless of the type of text edit, if you hold the mouse over the text edit indicator, a pop-up appears, displaying the additional or changed text or any comments associated with that text. 1. | Open the Review Document and Select the Text Edit Tool Under the File menu, select the Open command to locate and open the PDF document to be reviewed. Acrobat displays a dialog box explaining the basics of indicating text insertion, deletion, and replacement comments. Read the instructions and click the OK button. If you do not want to see this dialog box each time you do text edits, click the Don't Show Again check box. | 2. | Indicate Standard Text Edits Using the text edit cursor, make changes to your text just as you would in a word processing application. To indicate a text deletion, select a block of text and press Backspace or Delete . To indicate replacement text, select a block of text and type the new text. To indicate new text to be inserted, click to place an insertion point and type the new text to be added. | 3. | Indicate Additional Text Comments The Text Edits submenu also contains commands for calling attention to specific blocks of text.
