PDF Optimizer is a feature that can produce smaller and more efficient PDF documents. Unnecessary fonts are unembedded; images are compressed; and extraneous PDF objects, such as embedded thumbnails, hidden layers , and external cross references, are removed. The PDF Optimizer. From the Advanced menu, select the PDF Optimizer command to open the PDF Optimizer dialog box. The top of the dialog box contains a drop-down list of presets that you can select from, Delete and Save buttons , and an Audit Space Usage button. The Delete button is active if you have a custom preset selected and can be used to delete the selected preset. The Save button is activated as soon as you make any change to an existing preset. Clicking this button lets you save the current settings as a new preset. The Audit Space Usage button produces a report of the bytes used and the percentage of total file size for various document elements, such as bookmarks, fonts, comments, and extended graphics states. This information can lead you to areas where optimization will yield the best results. The rest of the dialog box consists of a list of six categories and options for each category, as follows :
