Once you create the Web site, add the text, and insert the pictures, you re ready to see how your site fits together. When you use a wizard to create the site, the navigation system (the way in which you move from page to page) and the linking is already done. The navigation buttons appear along the left, top, and bottom of the page (depending on the choices you selected in the wizard), and the links are already made, so that when you click the Preview tab and click one of the buttons , you are taken to that page.
When you want to view the navigation system the wizard established for you, display the site in Navigation view by clicking the Navigation icon on the Views bar at the bottom of the Web Site tab. The Navigation window shows icons of each page, with lines connecting the pages to which they are linked. You can collapse and expand the navigation diagram by clicking the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons in the bottom center of linked pages (as shown in Figure 19-8).
While you re working in Navigation view, you can add new pages, move linked pages to a different page, include selected pages on navigation bars, rename pages, and delete pages. To work with an individual page, right-click the page, and choose the option you want from the shortcut menu that appears.
You also can use Hyperlinks view to see which pages are linked. This is a pretty amazing view ”worth at least a quick look. When you have displayed some of the links by clicking the + buttons beside each page icon, the display looks something like Figure 19-9. Staggering, isn t it? By viewing the links on this simple wizard-generated site, you get an idea of why this medium is known as the Web.
