Appendix C: HTML Primer

Overview

By far, the most common way to view Flash games and movies is through the Web. The Flash movie is embedded into an HTML document that a Web browser displays.

When you create a Flash movie, certain attributes about the way the page is displayed can only be set by editing the HTML document that your movie is embedded in.

Because it's common to need to make at least minor adjustments to your HTML, I am including this primer on the subject. After reading this appendix, you should feel more comfortable digging into the HTML associated with your Flash games.

Before we begin, I want to give thanks and credit to Mark Feghali, my colleague and friend. Mark co-wrote this appendix with me. This primer on HTML has a different flavor as a result of his influence.
