In Mr. Godager's own words:

"I was born July 23, 1970. I had an uneventful and happy childhood close to Oslo, Norway. I started playing and programming on my brother's C64 in 1982, the same year I read Lord of the Rings . My fate was sealed.

"Fast forward to 1989: I was dead-bored studying law at the University of Oslo. I started doing my own computer role-playing game on the Amiga called Destinies . (I made the graphics and music and designed and programmed it myself . It was total crap, except for the design.) I thought I was almost finished when the Amiga died in 1992. Frustrated, I started studying psychology and founded Funcom with four others in the spring of 1993.

"I've had the following titles/ positions at Funcom during the years :

  • System Programmer, Producer H kon the Viking (Namco US, canned 1993)

  • Head of Design Department, Producer Pocahontas (Disney 1993 “1994)

  • Creative Director, Vice President Product Development, Chairman of the Board

  • Funcom Oslo Board (these last three titles were my foray into management from 1994 “1997)

  • Designer Molekult , 1997

  • Designer AO 1996/7 “2001

  • Game Director AO 2001 (I'm a real Funcom potato; I can be mashed into anything!)

"During the last few years (1996 “2002), I've also almost completed (eh, minus a class or two) my education as a clinical psychologist . Previously, I've dabbled in politics and have worked as a 'reporter/editor' on two pro-bono magazines.

"I was married September 2001, and my wife is expecting our first child in July 2002. I love playing pen-and-paper role-playing games , twiddling with my computer, watching movies, reading books, and eating Indian food."
