8.5. NewSIDNewSID is a free tool you can download from www.sysinternals.com. You need to run this tool if you clone template virtual machines. When you run it you can select a random SID or specify an SID yourself (see Figure 8.13). We recommend the former. Figure 8-13. Choosing an SIDClick Next. You should now be able to rename your virtual machine (see Figure 8.14). Figure 8-14. You can use Microsoft's SysPrep tool to accomplish the same thing, but we prefer the NewSID tool. However, if you are creating clones in VirtualCenter, you will need Sysprep. It is required. |
