Section 13.8. Seth s Return

13.8. Seth's Return

When Seth, from Sales, returned from his trip, he reviewed the Fit tables with Don and Emily. "I'm surprised at all the cases; I thought I really understood it." He had several questions about the test cases and suggested some other examples that highlighted test deficiencies, which turned out to be minor by the time they'd worked through them.

Seth had been talking to a potential buyer of RentEz. "Their business rules are at odds with our current approach to handling lateness. I've also brought back some complaints about excessive amounts being charged; I'll find the details and show you."

Seth, Don, and Emily agreed to meet later to discuss these issues and to reconsider the way that lateness may be handled for the next version of the software (see Chapter 16). Revising that could mean discussing and negotiating with those existing RentEz clients on a maintenance and upgrade contract.

Seth was pleased. "We now have a clear idea of the current business rule for handling lateness, which will make it easier to think about the future and reduce the likelihood of changes' having a bad impact on existing customers."
