Summary

The Indian government has focused its efforts to lift India's development in the high-technology sector utilizing the inherent strengths of the country. A hard-earned reputation for quality and expertise based on India's enormous talent pool, combined with competitive cost advantages, has allowed India to excel in the IT service-based industry. The Indian ethic of dedicated hard work is a societal asset that corporate managers of large MNCs value greatly. It also counter- balances the risks of establishing development sites in a region that is notorious for insufficient infrastructure and bureaucratic roadblocks . Indians have established their reputation for dedicated diligence through both their performance in the Indian IT industry and their compatriots in high-level management and engineering positions all around the world.

India has the combined support of government leadership in education and an actively involved worldwide Diaspora that invests and develops financial and intellectual capital back and forth. It can now focus both on the future growth of its software industry and the potential impact this industry can have to transform the Indian economy to progress into the status of "developed nation."
