Inserting Fireworks HTML

Sure, the rollover.htm file is nice, but who wants to redevelop a new design to fit around the rollover image? This is where the Insert Fireworks HTML features comes in. The Insert Fireworks HTML feature allows you to take the existing page (rollover.htm), including the Fireworks-generated JavaScript, and directly insert it into a pre-designed web page (companyevents_surfpics.htm) in Dreamweaver. Just like most other features in Dreamweaver, the process is actually quite simple. To insert Fireworks HTML, follow these steps:

1.

Open the companyevent_surfpics.htm page and place your cursor anywhere in the document to act as the insertion point for the Fireworks HTML.

2.

Choose Insert, Image Objects, Fireworks. The Insert Fireworks HTML dialog appears.

3.

Browse for the HTML file that was generated by Fireworks (rollover.htm). When you find it, click OK to return to the Insert Fireworks HTML dialog. If you prefer, click the Delete File After Insertion check box to completely remove the rollover.htm file after it's been inserted into this document. Click OK.

4.

The button now appears inside your Dreamweaver document.

5.

Save your work.

Preview your work in a browser by choosing the Preview in Browser option in the Document bar (or by pressing F12).
