Summary

[Previous] [Next]

Upgrading existing servers and clients to Windows 2000 involves even more planning than creating a domain from the ground up, and upgrading Windows 95 and Windows 98 machines introduces additional complexity. Changing a network's structure before beginning your upgrade can make it function better under Active Directory. As the system administrator, you should recommend new installations on clients and upgraded installations on servers whenever possible. The next chapter moves on to the installation and configuration of printers—after the computers themselves, the most important component of many networks.
