Networking services is a group of optional networking components that you can add. The components in the Networking Services group include:
- COM Internet Services Proxy Provides support for DCOM objects to use HTTP and IIS.
- Domain Name System (DNS) Adds the Microsoft dynamic DNS server.
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Adds DHCP server to automatically assign IP addresses and configuration information to network client computers.
- Internet Authentication Service Adds support for the RADIUS protocol for dial-up and VPN users.
- QoS Admission Control Service Provides support for specifying network connection quality by individual subnets.
- Simple TCP/IP Services Support for a variety of minor TCP/IP services including Echo and Quote of the Day.
- Site Server ILS Services Updates directory information by scanning TCP/IP stacks.
- Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) Adds a WINS server for supporting NetBIOS names in mixed mode networks.
