Chapter 13. Working with Photoshop Files: Nesting and Animating

An excellent feature of Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 is its ability to import a layered Photo-shop file. Importing all those layers, however, can significantly increase the number of files your final sequence.

To reap the benefit of this feature without the added cost, use nesting.Nesting is the process of consolidating multiple files into a single sequence that represents the entire group. Not only is nesting a powerful way of minimizing clutter in sequences, it is also an efficient way to group clips for better control of effect placement.

In this chapter, you will learn how to nest groups of layers to add motion and effects to individual layers without altering the integrity of the original Photoshop file. The first lesson will teach basic nesting by creating a graphic opening for a photo montage. You will then motion and some transitions to the elements of that nested sequence in the second lesson.
