Things to Remember

The most valuable things to take away from this chapter are familiarity with the new terminology and the expected responsiveness to how to drop and replace panels. When you get to Chapter 15 there's a little quiz waiting for you to see how easy of a time you have building a custom workspace for the Titler.

A great feature to remember is the Custom Workspaces menu listing and the ability to load preexisting workspaces and to customize your own. For a number of lessons in this book, you will rely on existing workspaces and in a couple of instances I have provided a few of my own. If you find yourself in a resizing downward spiral, simply go up to your Window > Workspace menu and select any of the preexisting workspaces to get back to square one. If you have created a workspace that you want to keep, go to Window > Workspace > Save Workspace and then name the current workspace configuration so that it becomes selectable from the Window > Workspace menu.

It is not a simple task to understand the workspace revisions right out of the new 2.0 box, but once you get used to the layout functionality, you'll find that your work in the application and the allocation of panel space and sizes is much more efficient.

In the next chapter I will introduce the Capture panel, which is a specialized panel that is your interface to recording audio and video for usage inside of Premiere Pro.
