Chapter 22. New Color Correction Tools: Fast Color Corrector

One of Premiere Pro's biggest leaps forward in 2.0 is its handling of color space and color correction tools. Premiere Pro 2.0 has a Video Effects folder that contains a Color Correction subfolder. There you'll find such new effects as Fast Color Corrector, Luma Corrector, Luma Curve, RGB Color Corrector, RGB Curves, Three-Way Color Corrector, and Video Limiter. This chapter focuses exclusively on the Fast Color Corrector effect, while the next chapter will concentrate on the Three-Way Color Corrector. Before diving into these effects, however, you need to understand some color correction basics so you can better appreciate the use of each color correction effect. The four principal components of color correction are luminance and chrominance; red, green, and blue (RGB) channels; HSL; and tonal ranges.
