Perhaps more than any other aspect of Exchange security, virus protection requires you to design a deep defense that includes multiple protective layers. For best protection, scan all your mail at the perimeter, then use desktop and Exchange server scanners. If that’s not possible, make sure you at least have Exchange-aware scanners on all of your mailbox servers.
