Conduct Private Individual Reviews (Process Notes 6.1.1)

The facilitator has private contact with each project member (developer, stakeholder, manager). The contact is often initiated by questionnaire. The individual responses submitted by project members are never publicized, and often the questionnaire is unsigned. Another way of gathering input from individuals is by asking them to talk into a tape recorder.

The purpose of this initial private contact is to provide the facilitator with a realistic guide to the issues of the project. Here are some sample questions:

  • If you had to do it again, what would you do differently?

  • What would you do the same way?

  • What was your best experience?

  • What was your worst experience?

  • Which tools were most helpful?

  • Which tools impeded progress?

  • How do you rate the traceability of your requirements?

  • Would you work with the same team again? Why?

  • What single change would result in most improvement to product quality?

  • How do you rate management support?

  • What did you learn by doing this project?
