As you can see, there is not a lot of detail in this checklist (see Figure 7.2). Three mandatory items-the Training Plan, the Installation Rollout Plan, and the Signoff Letter-are what the Core Team is responsible for accomplishing; however, do not let yourself be lulled into a false sense of security by the simplicity of this checklist. Many, many programs fall down at this point in the process. It is important to understand that the Implementation phase is a precursor to formal product handoff. During this phase, the Core Team will work with one or more predetermined rollout sites to define and implement all of the required plans for training and software transition to production status.
