5.7 Stress Test Plan (SsTP)

 < Day Day Up >

The Stress Test Plan is designed and executed to ensure that the product will perform exactly as expected in the user production environment. This test includes such items as placing a maximum data load on the environment, pushing the limits of each known boundary in software, hardware, and so on. The whole point of this process is to find the breaking point (if there is one) in testing and make it known before any real users are allowed to begin using the system. This stress test process includes both hardware and software and should be one of the key milestones in project execution. Gloss over this step at your peril!
