The TM is to be used when conducting training on the new product. Like any good training material, it should provide a formalized, well-planned introduction to the material that covers the product deliverable. A suggested TM outline is as follows:
I. Introduction
II. Lesson(s)
III. Objectives
IV. Lesson Details
V. Practice Sessions
VI. Workbook Exercises
VII. Lesson Summary
VIII. Glossary
Each student should be given a copy of the TM, and the instructor should follow it exactly. This ensures that all students are trained according to the guidelines developed by the Core Team and that the instructors deliver consistent content. In a large organization with many large systems, it is a huge cost consideration to train people. Having consistency across training programs helps reduce costs and leverage efficiencies across applications. Do not develop the TM from scratch for each application; consistent format and presentation are important factors in a successful implementation process.
