The DDP consists of two documents. The first of these two documents is the Content Pipeline Document (CPD), which describes the process by which data to be delivered by the product will be channeled to those responsible for sustaining the content management. A minimal CPD should do the following:
Identify content authors
Define content flow process and content correction process
Define data format
Define data publication tool assignments
Generate reports
Collect data
Format data
The second part of the DDP is the Data Distribution Plan (DDisP). This plan describes the process by which information contained within the product will be distributed to the target audience as requested by the user. The DDisP should identify target audience content, define distribution and/or dissemination processes, define all data formats, define other potential tools in which to incorporate this data, identify the timing of information delivery, define all reports to be generated by the system, and finally, identify data assignments (i.e., who is responsible for procuring, processing, and producing this data?).
