13.1 Prevention

13.1 Prevention

Key to any incident response plan, once the initial planning process is complete, is the implementation of a complete security policy. Not only is a security policy a good idea from the point of view of network security, but it also assists the incident response team in evaluating the difference between a real incident and a false one. Furthermore, if the security on the network is up-to-date, it also reduces the number of high-priority threats that response teams need to address, thus making better use of their time.
