The Visual Studio C# version 2.0 compiler does not provide a default icon for every new project created in the IDE. However, it is easy to bring into the project the tools necessary for icon creation. For a demonstration of the processes required to create a project icon, open the IDE and click on the File main menu item, followed by Open and Project/Solution. In the Open Project window, move to Visual Studio 2005\Projects\DemosSourceCode\ProjectIcon. Open this project by clicking on its solution file, ProjectIcon.sln.
Note | There is a similar project, also in DemosSourceCode, named ProjectIconComplete. This project already has the completed project icon embedded in it. You don t want to bring this project into the IDE unless your attempts at adding an icon to ProjectIcon fail. |
Make no changes to project ProjectIcon since the details of the main window have nothing to do with successfully creating a project icon.
