Chapter 2. Booting and Halting the System
When we first switch on a Solaris system, we are immediately presented with what is generally referred to as the OK prompt. This prompt belongs to the PROM or monitor program and has nothing to do with Solaris itself so you cannot type UNIX commands here. We will look at the PROM in more detail at the end of this chapter. For now we just need to know that when we get the OK prompt the system is ready to bootup and load Solaris.
