Conclusion

The challenge for any organization deploying a wireless network is to make the wireless network secure, manageable, and easy to use. To meet this challenge, pay attention to detail. Document employee application use and bandwidth requirements and then choose the appropriate technology and products to accommodate both. Conduct a comprehensive site survey. Finally start small, with a pilot project or a limited deployment. To properly design and deploy a WLAN that can meet and even exceed everyone's expectations is a job requiring much more upfront planning and different ongoing diligence than the traditional wired networks.

For corporations, money is the bottom line. Of course, how additional employee productivity translates into dollars is difficult to quantify. Yet without a doubt, a more connected employee is a more productive employee. And high productivity is good economics.
