Objectives of future reform

The overall objective of China's statistics is to establish a new statistical system that conforms to the requirements of the socialist market economy and current Chinese conditions, and to international practice. Priorities for this objective are the establishment of a scientific and efficient national statistical system, a rationally structured organizational management system with coordinated operation, a modern national statistical information network system, well-developed statistical legislation and a rationally structured contingent of competent statisticians equipped with modern knowledge and technology. In relation to this objective, much needs to be done. Further deepening of reforms is required. Practical experiences since the launch of China's reform and opening-up policy will be adapted . In addition, exchanges and cooperation with other countries will be strengthened to learn from their successful practice and more advanced experiences.
