Zhuhai is one of the five Special Economic Zones approved by the State Council of the Chinese government. Zhuhai is located at the south of Guangdong province , by the western and southern banks of the Pearl River estuary. It is bordered by Macao to the south, and overlooks Hong Kong across the South China Sea to the east. Zhuhai covers an area of 7,555 square kilometres and its population is 1.25 million.
