The city approved 38 foreign direct investment projects in 2000 with a contracted investment of US$95.69 million, an increase of 36.14 per cent year on year. The FDI in equity and contractual joint ventures dropped while that in solely foreign-owned enterprises rose by 174.07 per cent (see Table 7.42.4).
