Sea transportation networks have been formed in Zhanjiang with 22 ports of a total of 174 berths, whose annual throughput exceeds 30 million tonnes. Zhanjiang port is the main entrepot in China with 33 berths, 25 of which can hold 10,000 to 50,000-tonne ships. Zhanjiang Port has commercial transactions with more than 100 countries and regions in the world. It has developed into a multi-functioning harbour with a handling capacity of 18 million tonnes. The railways from Zhanjiang to Litang and from Zhanjiang to Guangzhou connect Zhanjiang with national rail networks. Highways are available to every village and town and the expressway from Guangzhou to Zhanjiang is under construction. Currently 18 airliners with 110 flights per week are scheduled for Hong Kong and other large cities.
